Our Bushland Restoration morning will be held on Sunday 18th of June, 9:30am-12:30pm. We will meet at the central car-park on Glenfern Road. We'll provide you with tools, hand sanitiser and morning tea. Please bring sturdy shoes, drinking water and gardening gloves. You are very welcome for all or part of the morning; or if you are unable to participate in the work, do feel free to join us at 11am, when we stop for morning tea and an informative talk. We'll look for weeds such as verbena, agapanthus, pittosporum, ivy and wandering trad. You don't need experience – we'll help you identify the weeds and show you how to tackle them. UPDATE: Cancelled due to rain. Our next Bush Restoration is this coming Sunday, however the forecast doesn't look too favourable for us. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or email the morning of and we'll let you know if it's going ahead of not. 🌿
Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful morning in the reserve preparing the area at the eastern end of the reserve adjacent the depot, for our tree planing day in May. Thanks to all who contributed in stabilising the bank, spreading the top-soil and tidying up the fallen timber and long grass through this area. Photos by J. Ellis
With the support of Yarra Ranges Council we will start improving the area around the Yarra Ranges Council depot, Melway 74 G11. If you would like to join us, our midweek working bee will be held this Wednesday 5 April, 9-11am. We will meet at the depot end to prepare the area for planting later in May. If you are able to bring a whipper-snipper and/or a spade, that would be very helpful. Please bring gloves and drinking water. Two large stepping stones are now in place making the creek very easy to cross. We'll look for weeds such as verbena, agapanthus, pittosporum, ivy and wandering trad.
