Update: Good morning Volunteers. Due to the wild weather this morning's working bee has been cancelled. On Sunday 17th of July we'll have our Bushland Restoration morning from 9:30am-12:30pm, with morning tea at 11am and an informative talk about a plant or animal or other aspect of Glenfern. We meet at the central car park. We'll provide you with morning tea, tools and hand sanitiser. Please bring sturdy shoes, long pants, garden gloves and drinking water. In case of rain, we'll let you know about cancellation via email and Facebook.
On Sunday 15th May we'll hold our Bush Restoration morning from 9.30am - 12.30pm. We meet at the central car park on Glenfern Road. Please bring your own garden gloves, drinking water, and vaccination tick or exemption. We'll provide you with tools, hand sanitiser, and morning tea. In case of rain we'll announce any cancellation by email and on Facebook. Hope to see you there!
This week we have two bush restorations, to avoid our Sunday event clashing with Easter. Wednesday 6 April starts at 9am, and Sunday 10 April at 9:30am. Take your pick! Attend both! Be the Best Bush Restoration-er a Bush Restoration-er Could Be. Tools are provided, no experience needed. Just bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes and gloves. We'll meet at the car-park midway along the reserve. Hope to see you there!
Our Bush Restoration Mornings are back. This time we are working in the Forest Park section so we are meeting at the Depot car park which is at the South-eastern end of the Reserve. Sunday 20th March, 9.30am.
Welcome to our Bushland Restoration Morning. With a small miracle, the weather will be clear for Sunday and we'll be able to go ahead with our first weekend restoration in a long time. We meet at the central car park. No experience needed, we'll show you what to do. We will provide tools and hand sanitiser, but BYO gloves. Please be aware that snakes may be active. There are a few instructions that we need to follow... On your arrival there will be the usual attendance form to sign in, plus a form to declare that you comply with the vaccination requirements. Please note that this is NOT a disclosure of your vaccination status. See our recent email for details of those requirements mandated by the Yarra Ranges Council or contact us if you didn't receive it. Please carry your mask with you. You don't need to wear it, but bring it with you just in case. Bring your own gloves and morning tea. Observe social distancing of 1.5 metres. We look forward to seeing you at the reserve if you have a spare hour or three to join in.
UPDATE: As you would guess, the restoration day has been COVID-cancelled. Hope to see you next time. Howdy folks. Join us this Sunday in the Glenfern bushlands. A great opportunity to venture off the paths and into the wilderness. All are welcome.
Yeah! We are getting together this Wednesday 7th July for a Conservation and Conversation morning at Glenfern Valley Bushlands. We will check out Area 7 and see how it is faring then stop for a get-together and morning tea. It will be nice to back in the bush again. All welcome.
Come along this Sunday and help us restore the Glenfern Bushlands. Hope to see you there!
